Having an operation on my 'painting' shoulder late last year has meant that this year has been the most non productive for a very long time. The ability to paint has now been restored, thank God, so at last the years work is underway. I do apologise if you have become bored with my website and have hopes of getting new work onto it very soon. Meanwhile think of me having major fun in my studio. Tauranga Harbour has been particularly lovely this year when at tide turn it flaunts glorious reflections to titillate the eyes of people like me. I am working at recording the imprints these have made on my mind. Some should be ready for the public eye soon. As well I am having my usual fun trying to go "where no woman has been before", playing with textures and ideas to create a new series I am not telling you about right now - so watch my website over the next year - all may be revealed. Last Thursday I hung an exhibition at The Art Boutique, Cambridge Road, Tauranga. You can see my new work on my website. It is mostly nudes on paper, a celebration of the wonderful female form, and of the fact that after a year without a model I have been fortunate enough to find a really good one. I also hung the two harbour paintings mentioned above. Now I am heading away for three months painting walkabout around South Island New Zealand, leaving my home in the very capable hands of a good friend. So think of me sleeping in my car, waking at dawn and scurrying out to gather up the wonderful S.I. light onto my canvas. What a luxury. Watch this space next year - an exhibition is sure to emerge from such wanderings.
